Our Mission To experience new life by knowing and following Jesus. Christ's one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. (Romans 5:18) "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (John 17:3) "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:27) 1) To love God with our whole and undivided lives – heart, soul, mind, and strength. Jesus replied, "The most important commandment is this: You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.' (Mark 12:29-30) 2) To love the people around us like we love ourselves. Jesus continues, “The second (commandment) is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Mark 12:31) 3) To follow Jesus. Then Jesus said, "If any of you wants to be My follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow Me. (Luke 9:23) 4) To lead others to follow Jesus. Jesus came and told His disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20) Our Approach 1) Large Group - The New Life fellowship meets weekly to worship God, study God’s Word, and enjoy time with one another. Large Group is always open to everyone, and a great way to get familiar with what’s going on in New Life. 2) Small Groups - This is where genuine friendships are formed. Student led small groups meet to pray, share, and study God's word. The New Life small group culture affords a time to be honest, seek answers, and be encouraged in our spiritual journey. 3) Events - Throughout the year we participate in a variety of social events, conferences, retreats, and service opportunities. Key events include the annual Passion Conference and the Spring Break Mission Trip. Events are designed to: a) Bring students into closer relationships with God and friends, b) Challenge and deepen students in their relationship with Christ, c) Provide opportunity to serve in the name of Christ, and, d) Give students a chance to rest in Christ. 4) Christ Centered Friendships - In committed, Christ centered friendships we are encouraged to know and follow Jesus. Jesus sent out His disciples in pairs. These relationships provided companionship and focus in the journey. 5) Ambassadorship - The Bible teaches that all believers are ambassadors of Christ and commissioned to share His gospel (1 Peter 2:9). Each person in our fellowship is cultivating the personal priorities of loving people, representing Christ, and sharing the story of Jesus with friends and family. Our Distinctives Like all fellowships we have a culture, a blend of personalities, strengths, and weakness. As reflected above, we’re big on stuff like devotion to Christ, discipleship, and missions. Since we represent, and welcome, a wide variety of backgrounds and spiritual understandings, we advocate the resolve of the Berean (Acts 17:10-11). We esteem the Bible as inerrant, authoritative, and The source of truth. We humbly approach the Bible with sound exegetical interpretation. New Life is an inter-denominational collegiate Christian community. We are affiliated with the Baptist Convention of Pennsylvania / South Jersey and the North American Mission Board. We are financially supported through the giving of churches, individuals, and New Life Alumni. |
